Dashboard Design

I'm currently the lead designer on the Plaid Dashboard. When I joined, the Dashboard was mostly used by developers, but over the past few years we've scaled the surface to work for a wide range of personas across Credit, Payments, and Fraud.

Design Systems

I led the design of the Plaid Dashboard Visual Refresh. We decided to fork our design system from the consumer experience and created a system that catered to our B2B customers. I own the design system that is used by different teams building on the Dashboard.

About

Hi, I'm Justin. I started my design career as a digital campaigner at the advocacy organization Reproductive Freedom for All in Washington, DC. Afterwards, I worked as a UX fellow at Foresee where I gained a foundational understanding of usability best practices and enterprise software development. At Google, I first worked in Sunnyvale, California on Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) and focused on tools for IT admins to manage their users, apps, and devices. I then moved to New York City to work on Google Cloud Platform where I designed products to help developers continuously build, test, and deploy applications.

Today, I'm a Design Lead at Plaid where I'm designing tools that help fintech apps and financial institutions integrate with Plaid APIs, as well as experiences that help consumers connect their bank accounts to financial apps. I'm responsible for all phases of the design process from research and user flows to prototypes and visual design. I also facilitates quarterly planning and influence the product roadmap. I obtained my Master's degree in Human Computer Interaction from the University of Michigan. I'm originally from Maryland where I enjoy eating crabs.
